Last week was certainly a busy one for SKYCIG in the news. With the MHRA announcement on Wednesday we wanted to ensure that our voice was heard on an issue which could potentially have a significant impact on our users. We were glad to be featured in coverage reaching across the world but I expect that some of you may have spotted us in both online and print versions of some of our own UK based news titles.

The recent MHRA announcements that e-cigarettes are to be regulated as medicinal products from 2016 onwards has caused quite a media storm for the e-cigarette world in the media and, likely you have seen our responses across the news condemning this decision as unnecessary and unjustifiable.

As I’m sure you have all noticed the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency have announced that they plan to regulate e-cigarettes as medicines from 2016 when the new European Tobacco Laws come into force. The EU themselves still have yet to make a decision on how they will classify e-cigarettes when these new laws are enforced in 2016, so there will be no immediate ramifications for the e-cigarette industry. Keep an eye out for us in the news as we will have plenty to say on the issue!
